Review of Testimonial Call on 18 July

Peter P. from Taree told us that he has been on Noni Juice for 5 years – he is now 79 years old. He started with a high PSA (prostatic specific antigen) reading which indicates a problem with the prostate. After he started on Juice his PSA went down to normal levels indicating an improvement in prostate function . In the 5 years he has been on Juice he has only had to have 3 hormone injections for his condition which is very unusual as many injections are normally required. He has also had a reduction in cholesterol readings to normal levels and he stated that when he began the juice he was a diabetic. His blood sugars are now normal. His blood pressure is 110/70-80 which is a very young person’s blood pressure and he said his wife told him he stopped snoring within days of starting the Juice. Incidentally Peter used to suffer with severe back pain and after starting drinking Juice it went away. He is pleased to announce that in the 5 years since, that pain has not returned. He is a remarkable individual and unusually healthy for his age (or any age for that matter).

Leonie Mc.from the Taree area was also on the call sharing her thoughts and feelings about Juice. When she was initially introduced to it 5 years ago she was somewhat sceptical. She started taking it because of back pain. She found within weeks that the pain went away. She noticed that the arthritic pain and swelling in her body also subsided fairly quickly too. Leonie had also noticed that she was losing clear vision in one of her eyes; a blurry spot in her vision. On consulting the optometrist she was told that she had macular degeneration. She then raised the amount of Juice she was drinking slightly and the blurry spot disappeared. She was thrilled to be told by the optometrist that the macular degeneration was no longer there! She says she will continue to take the juice forever, and she is a pensioner.

Deb H. from Brisbane told us that she is 52 years old with a 9 year old son. (Anyone who has seen her would swear she was no older that 35!) She said that with the birth of her son and a lot of subsequent stress and moving locations she became very run down. She knew of someone who took Juice with great results but didn’t think of it for herself as the person was elderly and sick. However, when her friend introduced her to it, her friend told Deb of her own testimonial: she had had major haemorrhaging at the birth of her child and the Juice had helped enormously. Deb decided to try it. She says she loves the taste and wasn’t sceptical at first as she believes that natural remedies are the best way to maintain health even though she didn’t take any at that time herself. She said that 2-3 days after she started drinking Juice she woke up feeling a million dollars with lots of energy. She used to have lots of shooting pains throughout her body and those went away after drinking the juice. She stated that there was once a time she didn’t have any Juice and her pains returned. Deb is very passionate about the juice and said that she will always drink it.

Research with Noni and cholesterol levels

Noni, a traditional Polynesian remedy, lowers total cholesterol and triglyceride levels
Mar 2, 2006
Michael O'Riordan
Phoenix, AZ - Noni, a traditional Polynesian remedy for a variety of health conditions, might be helpful in preventing future heart disease, suggest the results of a new study [1]. Investigators report at the American Heart Association 46th Annual Conference on Cardiovascular Disease, Epidemiology, and Prevention that drinking noni juice, made from the fruit of the Indian mulberry (Morinda citrifolia), for 30 days lowered total cholesterol and triglyceride levels in a group of healthy smokers.
"These are patients who are not eligible for statins or other drug therapy but who are at risk because they smoke and have slightly elevated total cholesterol levels," said lead investigator Dr Mian-Ying Wang (University of Illinois College of Medicine, Rockford). "Noni juice is able to lower their cholesterol and triglyceride levels and so might be used as a preventive measure against future heart disease."
Speaking with heartwire, Wang said that in the South Pacific, noni has been used to treat just about every condition imaginable, including cancer, hypertension, diabetes, infection, tuberculosis, and malaria. Used for more than 2000 years, local folklore heralds the fruit as capable of offering a broad range of health benefits. To look at the effects of noni in a more scientifically rigorous way, Wang and her group tested whether noni positively affected cholesterol and triglyceride levels in a group of healthy smokers.
The current smokers in the study were 20 to 60 years old with total cholesterol levels >190 mg/dL. In total, 106 men and women were randomized to drink to one to four ounces of noni juice (Tahitian Noni) and 26 men and women and men randomized to drink a placebo. After 30 days, the researchers report that those randomized to the noni-juice arm had significant declines in total cholesterol and triglyceride levels, whereas these values were unchanged in the placebo group.

The researchers also report that subjects with the highest total cholesterol levels had the largest relative reductions. For subjects with total cholesterol levels considered high, those between 221 and 299 mg/dL, there was an 18% reduction in total cholesterol. For those with very high levels, >300 mg/dL, drinking noni juice reduced total cholesterol levels 22% at 30 days.
Wang noted that LDL cholesterol levels of the enrolled subjects were normal or borderline, but smoking placed them at higher risk. For these patients, many of whom would not qualify for statin therapy, she recommends noni juice to maintain health and prevent disease. Like many, Wang is a believer in its benefits and drinks one ounce of noni juice daily, but she points out that larger clinical trials are needed to determine whether noni can help prevent heart disease.

Pomegranate
The 'new cranberry' is three times as rich in antioxidants as red wine or green tea. It contains high levels of vitamin C, vitamin E and folic acid, all of which help to neutralise 'free radicals' - destructive molecules produced by the body which can also be generated by poor diet, pollution and smoking. These 'molecular sharks' are implicated in cardiovascular disease, cancer and premature ageing.
Pomegranate has also shown promise in lowering blood pressure, preventing prostate and other cancers, protecting newborn babies from brain damage, reducing menopausal symptoms and boosting male sexual performance.
Pomegranate's antioxidants appear to be more potent than those in other fruits. They inhibit the oxidation of 'bad' (LDL) cholesterol - the first stage in the build-up of plaque which causes hardening of the arteries, heart attacks and strokes. Nitric oxide, essential for healthy blood vessels, is broken down and rendered useless by free radicals called 'super oxides'. By 'scavenging' super oxides, the antioxidants in pomegranate ensure there is sufficient nitric oxide to go round. Pomegranate contains antioxidants called polyphenols, which soak up free radicals. It is also rich in tannins and punicalagin (also antioxidants).
Finally, it contains ellagic acid - a substance that inhibits apoptosis, or programmed cell death, where a cell goes into a genetic programme to effectively commit suicide.
Acai
A thick-skinned purple berry that is taking the US by storm, açaí was discovered by two friends on holiday in Brazil and marketed as the drink Sambazon. This year, the company doubled its revenue to $2.5m (£1.5m). In 2004, the anti-ageing guru Dr Nicholas Perricone declared açaí the number-one superfruit in the world. Rich in vitamins A and C it contains twice as many antioxidants as blueberries.
Aronia berry
Rich in polyphenols, aronia has some properties linked to the prevention of cancer.
Blueberries
High in vitamins C and E, and anthocyanins, blueberries were ranked top for antioxidant activity among 40 fruit and veg by scientists at Tufts University, Boston. They sprang to prominence when scientists reported that they could be as effective as drugs in lowering cholesterol.
Broccoli and super broccoli
The green cruciform vegetable is rich in beta-carotene, folate and potassium plus vitamin C and other antioxidants, as well as containing two chemicals - sulforaphane and indoles - known to prevent cancer. One variety, known as 'super broccoli', contains 3.4 times more sulforaphane than standard types. Developed by traditional breeding methods, it should be available commercially in three years' time. Last week, scientists at the Institute of Food Research in Norwich reported that 'super broccoli' is especially beneficial to the 50 per cent of the population who lack a GSTM1 gene, meaning they excrete sulforaphane before it has had a positive effect. By eating this enriched version, or larger portions of ordinary broccoli, they can protect themselves against cancer as well as people who do have the gene.
Cranberries
Cranberries are rich in polyphenols and antioxidants. The fruit's antibacterial properties fixed it in the mind as a treatment for urinary infections.
Green tea
An enduring wonder drink, it has powerful antioxidants - catechins - said to fight viruses, slow ageing and benefit health by destroying free radicals. Epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG), another antioxidant, is 100 times more effective than vitamin C and 25 times more than vitamin E at protecting cells and DNA from damage. EGCG has twice the benefits of resveratrol, found in red wine.
Noni berry
Nominated by Fiona Posell, vice-president of corporate communications at POM Wonderful, the noni berry - from the morinda citrifolia tree, found mainly in Tahiti - produces a reddish-brown juice with a distinctive smell and taste. Says Posell: 'It may pack more antioxidants, but if you want to drink eight ounces of noni juice, you have to be a very brave person.' (NB not if you get the correct brand)
Red wine
Red wine contains just about every antioxidant and can reduce the chances of heart disease.
Watermelon
Watermelon is rich in lycopene - an antioxidant that neutralises free radicals and may prevent prostate cancer.

Testimonial-Wound Healing

This story has been sent by Viknes' sister, distributor and health worker,Latha Sivapalan, from Perth, Western Australia. Latha has given me permission to send on this testimonial to you all.
Jan Skelly

Hello Jan,
Regarding my brother, Viknes, he faithfully followed Dr Williams' instructions regarding the dressings and especially the breathing exercises. Within two weeks of the Noni-only dressing, he told me that his wound was pink whereas it had been white before. Soon after, it turned red and he began to have twinges of pain in the area. This was after Dr Williams visited him the second time (October/November?). I called him almost every day to remind him of his breathing exercises and even my mother noted the improvement when he did this.

For a short time, he was re-admitted to hospital and when the nurse tried to take a blood sample, the blood was too thick because the doctors had stopped his Warfarin. My mother told him to do his breathing exercises and almost immediately, the nurse could take the sample from a different area!

Last week, he saw his doctor in the hospital and the doctor called the nurse in to see my brother's wound. He exclaimed that my brother's treatment was working! Viknes said that his wounds were healing well and that the toes had returned almost to a normal colour when they had been black before.

Viknes, who had been terribly depressed because of his illness for the last 8 years, is so happy and positive, attending the (TNI office) meetings in Singapore. He is going to start his little four-year old daughter on TNJ. A huge thank you to Dr Williams and TNJ, (and to you for sending Dr williams to him) especially as it took me years to convince my brother to give it a try, even with the help of my sister and brother-in-law.

Thanks once again Jan for all your support and kindness.

Regards to Peter.
